1825 to 1840
A M1839 Type 2 Enlisted Man’s Mexican-American War Cap with Cape, $250. Type 2 was the most common cap from the period under Schuylkill Arsenal contract. Also available: Type 1 with cape and stiffener from button to button behind the visor only, with the visor pointing straight down (because of these uncomfortable features, Type 2 evolved), $250; Type 2 without cape with colored band depicting branch of service on band, $200.
B Civilian Beaver Top Hat with Full Lining, $400. Also available with top lining only, $375. Top hats are available in many styles, colors, brim widths, and crown heights. They are also good for militia impressions. We have a wide selection of militia badges, plumes, hackles, and pom poms correct for the 1830-40 period.
C M1839 Officer's Mexican-American War Cap, all dark blue, no cape, with bound, slightly pointed visor, $235. Also available with black velvet band and insignia, $270. Many designations are available, such as topographical engineer, U.S. Military Academy, etc.

O M1825 Artillery "Chako" Fatigue Cap, $200. Officer's models of both N and O are available with more elaborate trim. Correct period letters and numbers are available. (Original versions of these had cloth sweatbands, soft buckram stiffeners, and no linings. We use leather sweatbands, period-style stiffened bands, and linen linings to make a more substantial cap that will hold up with wear.

Oui c'est chère, mais on trouve aussi des articles abordables, ce chapeau de très belle qualité : 145 $ = 107 €
